Mai Imai
Japanese Photo Artist
Born in Fukushima, brought up in Shiga.
Graduated in photography from a Visual Arts School and experienced photo re-touching from the Iino Mediapro,
She is currently a photography artist based in Tokyo.
≪Photos are temporary information.
The images we see in daily life disappear at the next moment.
I don't know that photos that are consumed will stay. Technology has evolved and the truth is also vague.
And vague photos lose their credibility and gradually change their role in the past.
In such a trend, can a photograph expressed through the hands of a person give meaning and can snuggle up to us?
I know the question and emotions that arise in my personal life that are
often overlooked by others.
I hope to scoop them up and connect them to society through photographic
expression.
My project is mainly based on the following aspects:
concept:
What do you find through images?
What is the difference between individuals and others and many (many people)?
→ Look at the relationship between human recognition and the nature of symbols and objects.
Method:
Past private photos, use of pure experience and the history of others, construction by advertising production techniques or various acts≫
Mai Imai is a Japanese photo artist based in Tokyo, Japan.
Born in Fukushima and brought up in Shiga.
She graduated from the visual arts night college in 2011.
Worked at a creative company in Japan,
and now.
She has been making photo works that interact with human since 2006.

写真家
福島生まれ滋賀育ち。
人間を主題とし、日常から生まれた違和感を感じ取り物事を探求する人。
特に他者との関わりや多様性による異なり、人間の認識と想像力、記憶の記号性、個人と社会の関係性について関心を抱く。
ビジュアルアーツ専門学校にて写真を専攻。イイノ・メディアプロを経て、現在東京を拠点に写真家として活動。
